The spread of the gospel faces huge challenges in North India’s Himalayan region, where only three in every 10,000 people identify as Christian. Now, through faith-based ministry to the marginalized, believers are overcoming opposition. They’re winning respect and a hearing for the gospel in communities long steeped in Hindu tradition.
One Pioneers ministry partners with local churches to provide loving care for the disabled. As they minister, they share the gospel of grace. It stands in stark contrast to traditional taboos that discriminate against the poor, the sick and the suffering. Local pastors are also trained to serve and integrate the disabled into the church. Started by a Pioneer who has a daughter with disabilities, this holistic ministry is changing lives and transforming the witness of the local church.
Today, a network of believers is ministering in 375 villages in Northern India where the gospel is little known. Supporting this ministry in India is one of several strategic priorities included in our Pursuit of the Nations campaign. Will you pray for this effort?
